Dan Ordyna became the Chief Executive Officer for Portneuf Medical Center in July of 2013. Before that, Dan was the hospital CEO for Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon. He also served as a Chief Operating Office, an Ambulatory Surgical Development Director and a Regional Director of Managed Care.
Dan has an impressive track record of improving patient, physician and employee satisfaction. At the same time, he has been able to improve quality scores and grow net revenues. Dan and his staff at Willamette Valley Medical Center attained physician satisfaction scores at 96 percent overall and 100 percent physician satisfaction with nursing care. Under his direction the hospital also attained employee satisfaction scores at 88 percent overall and 94 percent job engagement. During this time, Dan was named a “Top Performer on Key Quality Measures” by the Joint Commission for the second year in a row with only 244 hospitals in the country receiving the distinction.
“I love a mission that centers on world-class care for patients, and I want to do everything I can to further the development of this culture,” says Dan. “Such a culture combined with a fierce loyalty to teamwork will help PMC realize this mission, and I want to be a part of it.”
Dan is familiar with Pocatello, having grown up in Ogden, Utah. His father was Athletic Director of Weber State University and with Idaho State University as part of the same conference, Dan attended many sporting events in Pocatello. He also attended BYU-Idaho in Rexburg.
Dan has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho and Masters and Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from Brigham Young University. He and his wife, Holly have five children: Kambree, McKay, Hunter, and twin sons Benson and Brigham. Holly is from Idaho and her parents are in Boise, where her father is an orthopedic surgeon. Dan’s parents have retired and now live in Salt Lake City.
“Pocatello is just a short road trip to both sets of grandparents for our children, so we hope to call Pocatello home for a very long time.”
Dan loves the outdoors, all types of sports, and spending time with his family.
